Iron Sky
Anyone else seen it?
This one goes straight to the pool room extremely funny.
Great galaxy backdrops, and the closing titles look like a HA panorama of the milkyway.

Worst case of defeat being snatched from the jaws of victory I've ever seen.
Moon Nazis: How could it not be great? But the director was too inexperienced and unskilled, and tried to make it everything, instead of just a classic 'B' comedy or thriller/horror.
Some great one-liners though, and the CGI was first-rate.
The rumour is that it will be remade by Hollywood, and it could be the very first case ever of a Hollywood remake being better than the original.

And starring Udo Kier and Götz Otto, no less. It should have been THE film of 2012.

It didn't turn out anywhere near as well as it deserved to.
I reckon they should have either played it as a straight "B" horror/thriller/actioner, or as pure comedy and nothing else.
The hilariously creepy talents of Kier and Otto were wasted.
Ah well, next time.

It's worth seeing. Even the teasers and trailers are worth seeing. In fact, they are better than the actual movie!

Iron Sky
looking forward to seeing it myself.
As an aside, just re-read Anthony Beevor's incredible book about the fall of Berlin 1945 and really some of the Nazi's were still holding out for that miracle weapon Hitler promised them after the V1/V2 etc. Even when the Red Army were kilometres away. Kept some of them fighting, oh, and the threat of instant execution should you even try and desert. Estimated between 10-40,000 Axis (German/Ukraine/Polish/etc) soldiers were killed in the last few months of the war by own forces as accused of leaving the front.
All pales into insignificance though when you look at how "Uncle Joe Stalin' practiced monumental genocide, with no compunction about Rus or them.
Sobering reading.

Yes, twice. Unusual movie to say the least, oddly enthralling.

Some of the finest ever one-liners buried in this classic!
I'm a Derek (pronounced 'Dirrik') - and Dereks don't run...
'The old magic's still there...'
'I got a chunky bit...'
and of course:
'I'm born again - hee hee'
Topped only by his Braindead, the only movie that actually managed to make me feel like barfing in a cinema...
I think I'm going to dust off the DVD and watch it again now
cheers,
Andrew.
