and now for something completely different - MOON thingies 15 April

Hi All, since we're all drowning in the glorius deluge of Jupiter delights right now thought you guys might appreciate a bit of variety. I was using the Moon to help achieve focus the other night (thanks Dennis for the tip) and thought what the hell and grabbed a quick avi near the coincidence of limb and terminator (nearly full moon).

DOn't know what any of these are but found it a pleasing view all the same.

Looks nice to me Rob, well done! But where's the GRS?

Nice capture Robert. Having focused on the Moon (or a star), just make sure that the mirror is locked before you make the slew to Jupiter. One evening I forgot and I think it may have moved fractionally, enough to throw off the critical focus and I didn’t notice until the middle of the imaging session.

Thanks Dennis, meant to ask you bout that, how are you locking your mirror as it's not a standard option on the C9.25?

Like all things from the USA, it's a bit expensive for a simple mechanical device that a skilled metal worker could make at home if they had the skills and gear.

Allegedly, it appears to reduce any mirror shift to between 1/2 or 1/3, which seems a worthwhile gain when trying to optimize your overall system.

Nice job...i think (not sure) the crater in the center is either Kapteyn or Barkla.Both craters about 60 klm's across..
