Tiangong 1 and Shenzhou 9 pass by Venus

A nice close pass of Venus by the space station Tiangong 1 and the docked Shenzhou 9 spacecraft this morning at 5:42am in Brisbane. Taken at Nundah on the predicted centreline of a transit by Calsky. Missed it by that much. Video here: http://youtu.be/BK5VKE5VQrw

Thanks for looking,

Tom

Nicely captured Tom! Looks great next to the crescent Venus!

I was out capturing it as well. Here they are passing Achernar.

Cheers,
Stephen

Thanks Marc and Stephen. The planets and spacecraft were 8 degrees above the horizon, making for a colourful and bubbly image.

Thanks guys. The video was not tracked so you can see that Venus swings through the field about 7 seconds before the spacecraft got there.
