DSLR Narrowband Processing techniques?

ANSWER..Go to photoshop help, where it tells me to go to Channels, select the channels panel then split channels..duh

Hi all
I see a lot of great sites where people have done narrowband with DSLR and they frequently mention that to process you load the stacked master into photoshop then discard the channels you dont want.

This is real newbie stuff but how do you actually do that discard? Am using SC6 (and what is that HDR toning 32bit thing all about???)

Thanks
