Venus Transit from Cootamundra

Here's my effort from John's backyard in Cootamundra. Had a great day. We all imaged our a$$ off and looked at the sun all day. Went back home to rainy Sydney with burnt lips and white panda eyes on red face

Thanks to John for the lovely coffee, cake, power and pristine skies.
It was a very special afternoon and you'll always remember the people you saw it with.

Lovely work Marc. I love that sepia look. Heaps of detail and perfect timing.

Great image Marc!
A bit of technical detail on OTA, camera etc would be nice?

Thanks Paul. I colorized the whole thing in PS as the original was more of a whitish/pink tint.

Thanks Rob.

I took this in 30s exposures at ISO 200, 1/4000s with a SONY NEX-5, tracking on a G11 at prime focus of my 90mm APO triplet with a Baader Mylar sheet. I used 2s exposures for last contact which is this shot. I used registax to do this shot as the offset was minimal.

Thanks again mate. Something to talk about for along while. I was showing Nicolas the video we just finished and said the next time somebody your age sees something like that will be in 4 or 5 generations. Puts things into perspective.
