Venus transit

Good evening!

An early morning today, getting the scope aligned ready for tracking, although that was almost a disaster in morning twilight and cloud.

Unfortunately, my day on the Mornington Peninsula consisted mostly of cloud cover and wind (although it did involve a bright morning rainbow). But I did get a small window to grab some footage so am greatful not to have missed all of it!

This was my first time solar viewing (with a dodge homemade RG filter) and imaging considering my time constraints sorting out settings i'm reasonably happy.

The big 'if' was whether or not my 12" truss scope would image with no shroud. turns out it still did question answered!

12" SW goto dob, RG solar film (off axis diameter approx a standard morter and pestel size). Registax 6, cropped due to line streaking when i do wavelets?!

Cheers

Rusty
