transit of venus live coverage

Hi All, just wanted to let you know about the transit coverage on events.slooh.com, lots of people will be sending in live images and video so if you can't see it yourself then check out the site.

I'll be sending live images every 60 seconds from Broome in WA as part of the Australian contingent.

cheers, Bird

Broome?

Are you there specifically for the transit? Make a road trip or are you doing planetary imaging there too?

Good luck! I'll be watching online, if these skies outside are anything to go by.

Thanks Bird. I might be watching online as well... 2-3cms of snow on the ground here, and the forecast suggests I'd have to drive at least 3 hours each way to get a view. I'm batching ATM and nursing sick horses, so I can't leave anyway till after they get a morning feed.

At least I have off peak satellite broadband in the morning.

Al.

Thanks guys, Mike - Leisa & I are over here for a weeks holiday, and we shipped her Meade 8" LX90 over as an experiment. The seeing here has been very good, looking at Saturn every night. I've got some of my imaging gear here, enough to do the transit but not for normal planetary imaging.

We're coming back in September to Carnarvon for 2 months, so this was an opportunity to check out Broome that I might not get otherwise.

cheers, Bird
