Star Formation - link to a useful symposium

Here is another link to some fairly recent papers on star formation. You will get a good idea from these review papers about the terminology that is currently in use
(over the years, there has been a lot of confusing and contradictory use by astronomers of terms such as "clumps", "cores", "protostars", ultra-compact HII regions, etc).

These are definitely comprehensive & clearly-written review papers about star and planet formation.
This collection of review papers, called "Protostars and Planets V"(2007), eds Reipurth et al. , is still frequently cited in the current literature.

You have two alternatives: buy the book for $80 at amazon, or download the papers for free!!
