Jupiter conjunction.

I couldn't wait. Very exciting. Here's the first of some shots I've taken tonight.

Really great pics. Paul & Geoff, lucky b's. I got to within 3 A/M and then a very large black cloud came thru. Just checked at 12.10 and it's cleared again!.DAMN. Would have been a nice quick partial as well.

Man o man Geoff, you'd better get a band aid. That's a nasty graze there. Too cool

Well I'll just have to overwhelm you with quantity then. First shot, (top one) prime focus with a 2X barlow, about f/20.

This one prime focus again, with a barlow but attached to a meade variable tele-extender. I'll work out the f ration and focal lenght tomorrow/nearly today and post them later

And I'll put this one in simply because I got the moons. Yes I know its slightly overexposed

ps these were shot through my Celestron 102, the one with a cheese grater for a focuser.

Now for something a bit different.

Motion blur! As jupiter zooms past the moon. Oh wait, that's not right.

It's actually the moon zooming past jupiter. Depends on your perspective I suppose, and which object to track on.
