NGC 6188 Region 3nm NII 80m

Had a bit of clear sky last night and after testing guiding etc managed to get 10X8 min of 3nm NII of NGC 6188.

I just have not had enough contiguous time to fine tune the system but it is getting there.

Here is a colour image with NII mapped to red and HA to green. There is a bit of difference in these emissions but it is subtle.

The emission of NII only occurs due to the presence of very hot blue stars. This will vary from object to object. A 5nm NB filter or wider will collect both NII and HA.

At the top right a PN does stand out with more NII emission.

I like the first one best Bert, a very dramatic rendition.
