Comet C/2011 L4 (PANSTARRS) + time lapse

This image shows the comet's movement over an hour and a half.
Shot using the 550D and ED80.
5 min subs @ iso800.

I've made a short animation using 5 images from last night. Didn't realise how much movement I am getting between subs. Still, it still shows how fast the comet is moving against the back ground stars.

Nice work Jeanette – I’m older than H0ughy and I had no problem seeing it!

Cheers

Left hand side, about a third of the way down. It's just a wee tadger.

Well done Jeanette, certainly is a little fella. I feel a bit inadequate as I cannot find it in the animation, it's times like this young Christopher generally gets right into me about being ancient. Probably an over 60's moment.

Regards
Trevor

Arrrrrrrr, got it. Thanks Jeanette, seems quite obvious now. I was initially looking for a fuzzball but now I see it more as a point source moving vertically. Even put my reading glasses on, normally I just squint a bit, sort of in denial that I need the glasses.

Cheers
Trevor

Aahh... got it now. It's hard to see because the images are not registered and they jump. It would be more obvious if you register the frames in the animation.
