Bit of Lipstick on a Pig!

Well I received a little package today. A brand new anodised gold Moonlite Focuser.
As the title suggests, looks a bit too fancy on a 12" GSO dob, but I am a very happy camper with it. Looks really nice, beautiful action. Easy to adjust. Cannot wait to try it out under a dark sky.

That looks great. I want a red Moonlite focuser for my 18" dob but I'll have to wait a bit until I can afford one.

Looks good Malcolm. I replaced an Astrosystems phase 4 with a Moonlight on my 8" dob. Made a WORLD of difference. Worth every penny. The Phase 4 I replaced, now that was a real pig!

Might be a while before you'll get to take it for a spin here in the dregs of Antarctica though

Thats awesome Malcolm, now all you have to do is paint the "pig" celestron orange to match

Mine is still sitting in its box. I am not allowed to open until my birthday in 2 weeks.

Like you, I picked gold as well.

You'll love it - great focuser. I have one on my 12" SW, gold as well.

Sounds like I made the right choice. Went with gold 'cause with a black base it is close to Richmond colours! Go Tiges!

And no Bo, the tube can stay white for now.

cannot believe what a difference my moonlite made to my c11..... just rolling the microfocusser with one finger back and forth for the sweet spot is a dream instead of it feeling like somebody keeps kicking my tripod with the other!

The more I think of it, it is not lipstick on a pig. More like plastic surgery or a boob job on Pamela Anderson

Well I have never thought of my scope as a Pamela Anderson!!
I was of course being a little tongue in cheek with the pig reference, I love my dob, but they will never win any beauty contests.

Actually the comparison is not too much off, both have lots of plastic, make some men drool and needs a good nudge to get working....

Thats a bit harsh Bo! About the only plastic on my scope is the Bobs Knobs and a bit on the mirror clips! I s'pose you could classify Bobs Knobs as an "implant".
