LX200 12volt

Just looking at making up a 12volt power lead for my 12inch LX200ACF (2011). And to be sure to be sure.....
Can someone who is 100 percent sure let me know if the centre pin is positive. What sort of power draw could I expect from multiple galaxy targeting - say 200 plus short slews over 5 hours.
Thanks indeed.

Centre pin was positive on my LX-90.

I think they draw a couple of amps when slewing, but much less when tracking. On average, I guess you'd draw 1amp at the most, so 5hrs = 5amp.hrs.

Hi Peter, yes the centre pin is positive and it should draw around 1 amp as David said.
I set the max slew rate on my LX 200 down a level, it slightly reduced the draw and
reduced the slew noise a great amount and it is only a little slower on slewing.

Wayne.

Looking forward to an improvement in the weather Peter - can't get much worse than this weekend (well, it can, but you know what I mean!)

Peter - you might want to check your dates again.

May 25th is first quarter weekend. I have the new moon as 20th May and will be heading out that weekend. I'm on call the following weekend. My on call weekends are planned around the phases of the moon - drives those who do the rosters up the wall!
