Philips 900NC and Win7

Hi Guys,

Having issues re-installing my Philips 900NC. I installed the Win7 drivers but when connecting the camera after reboot, it comes up and says "Device Driver software was not successfully installed" I have tried uninstalling and just plugging the camera in, not rebooting and several other options, but nothing seems to be working. Anyone have any ideas?

Computer (Laptop) is a DV6-3080xt Win7 64bit.

Just to add, I just connected it to another 64bit Windows 7 machine and it installed perfectly....

And you're definitely installing the 64bit drivers and not trying to use the original 32 bit drivers? I know this happened to me twice when I tried to run the 900 on Win7 on two laptops.

Are you sure its 64bit and not 32bit version of win 7? The 64bit driver wont work with a 32bit os and vice versa. Also you can force hardware install and see if you even have the driver on there.

follow this but when you get to browse for software driver choose let me pick from list of device on drivers then go down to phillips and choose 900nc

Okay, did what the above link says. It never came up with something about it being wrong and didn't give me an option to say YES, just a Cancel button. It looked exactly as the picture I posted just before.... headache coming along nicely

1st remove the driver by going
control panel > programs > programs and features
Select 900nc driver and click un-install, then reboot computer
Then re-install the driver, right click and run as administrator when running the driver install, get the driver from
http://downloads.celestron.com/Archi...00_dw7_eng.zip
or if your firewall allows click http://download.p4c.philips.com/file...00_dw7_eng.exe

download this to your desktop, then right click on spc900nc_00_dw7_eng.exe and click run as administrator, follow then install and then go back and try the method again.

There is no chance your running some kind of lame security software is here? Its pretty basic stuff and unless the driver is corrupt or your system is somehow fully blocking access to using non singed drivers i can't see how there would be any issue.

Ahh there's a point, Maybe AVG is blocking the driver somehow, its the only protection I am running atm. Will check it in the morning.

Should the issue persist even after updating windows, please disable Driver Signature Enforcement by hitting F8 key during boot and then select Disable Driver Signature Enforcement from the Advanced Boot Options

Try that Andrew, i never had this issue though with win 7 ultimate 64bit and 32bit and even win 7 home premium 32bit with the 900nc running on our current notebook's being used for for ap work.

So just tap f8 on and off on computer startup and you will get this menu to appear in the image select Disable Driver Signature Enforcement

best of luck man cause i'am running out of suggestions after this lol

Good news is, I disabled the signature thing and the camera is now working. Not sure if this will have any impact on anything else yet, or whether it will remain disabled? Good news at least its working and the clouds have rolled in

Thankyou to Paul and Jay for helping me out here. I would have still been going around in circles or even thinking about selling the camera.
