Saturn 5th April

Tonight was first light for my new 4x Powermate.
When it arrived this morning, I went outside to the postie to sign for the parcel, and the rain gods actually started spitting on me!!!
But luckily by dusk, the sky was clear so I could start playing with the new toy.
And let me say I am one very happy astro chick. I'm in love!! What a piece of kit this is.
Anyway, this is it's first offering. This is a work in progress, there are only 1000 frames stacked. Tomorrow I'll process the rest.

Finished off my first light image. 2000 frames stacked. Phew.
My next challenge is capturing the Enke Gap. I won't be happy until I get some fine detail within the ring system.

A great start, JJJ, will look forward to seeing the final result.

You are truly sliding down the planetary imager's slope. Soon you will have more barlows and powermates than eyepieces, and you will know you have arrived.

thats good data JJJ. colour balance and alignment is good, ansae match well and there is a hint of the crepe ring. It responds OK to a little more sharpening as well. regards Ray

Looks like a good piece of equipment - 4x have always scared me - my conditions would not suit it! Looking forward to more!

Matt, remember this was taken last night, under a near full moon that wasn't all that far from Saturn at the time.
It can't get much more extreme than that.

Thanks for the kind comments peoples. I appreciate your taking the time to look.
