NGC4945,NGC4945A and NGC4976 with modded DSLR

Hi there Astronomers,

The skies haven't been too kind lately but I managed to get 3.8 hours worth of NGC4945. You will also see in NGC4945A which is the SNR just below the main galaxy and NGC4976 a small mag10 galaxy at the bottom of the frame. As usual I am using my modded Canon 550D DSLR with an IDAS LP2 filter and the APM 130mm APO on the NEQ6 Pro.

Feel free to comment/critique
Thanks for looking,
Lucas

Nice image
Just a correction, NGC4945a is not a Supernova remnant but a galaxy behind a star.
there is a Supernova in NGC 4945, discovered late last year, SN 2011ja
See here for images .

Very nice image Lucas! Living at almost 43 degrees N Lat, I always love seeing the objects I cannot image.

Good job

Nice one Lucas I'd cut back on saturation and sharpening, have you tried layer mask in PS to bring out detail

Thanks for the correction Ron. Accuracy is very important and the website you have pointed me to is very informative.

Thanks for that Bruce. I feel the same way about the Northern hemisphere objects also!

Thanks Trevor. Always good to receive feedback. It's funny when I got to work I checked out the image and it appeared exactly how you described. A repro using layer mask techniques is definitely on the cards as I reckon the raw data is reasonable and worth the time!

Beautiful! I like the rich colours, but I agree with Trevor - it'd be great to see some detail in the bright highlights too.
