Mars & Saturn April 1st UT

Hi All,

All of the weather models seemed to predict pretty crook conditions last night but good conditions for the following few days. Set up to trial some baffling in my imaging system, purely to see how far I could go before reducing the light to my CCD.

As it turned out Mars didn't look as bad as I thought it would so I ended up staying out for a crack at Saturn.
The seeing was very fast, going in and out of focus but the overall feed didn't look all that bad.

Have attached 1 RGB & 807nm IR Mars data set along with animations of all RGB & IR data along with 1 RGB & 807nm IR of Saturn that I thought came up ok, a bit soft due to the jet, but things look considerable better for the coming days.

Thanks for looking
Regards
Trevor

Nice results Trevor, still some good detail. Guess it goes to show a forecast is just a forecast, you can't beat actually having a look!

Thanks Ivan, spot on I reckon, always worth a look if it's clear, in spite of what the prediction might be.

Thanks Ray, was pretty surprised with the Saturn result, Emil's AS2 deserves a lot of credit. The GFS 200mb chart looked horrendous, from down your way to up here at the Hill.
