This scope has served me well for around 5 years. I’ve moved on and so can it. This is a second hand scope so please don’t insult my intelligence by expecting it to be as good as a new model or the optics to be as exacting as an expensive Takahashi. Having said that, for the price you will pay the scope takes bloody good images.
Scope includes:
Rings and Vixen plate, 600mm focal length, 2" Crayford focuser with compression ring and 3 screws, 9x50 finderscope, 2" to 1.25" adapter.
The rubber rings have gone on the focuser handle but the focuser is smooth firm and very sturdy. It comfortably handled my Canon DSLR and Field flattener (all up over .65kg) and never slipped focus.
The optics are very good, not perfect and you will notice some dust inside, most of which i have removed easily by removing the focuser and cleaning the lenses with optical cleaning cloth and distilled water.( dont be afraid of dismantelling the focuser, they are designed to pull off and even replace). There appears to be maybe a couple of very small marks on the glass as you would expect on a scope of this age but they are towards the edge of frame and have had no effect on my imaging.
Attached are close ups of the lens plus the last image taken with this scope. Even if you don’t want to use it for imaging it will serve you well as a field scope or guide scope.
