Planetary imaging with a QHY5 guidecam

Some of my attempts at planetary imaging with a QHY5 guide camera.

Mars and Saturn imaged this evening using a 200mm f6 newtonian together with a 2.5x barlow, processed with Registax6.

Now that i'm starting to get a feel for how to use the wavelets feature, i had another crack at reprocessing an .avi file of Jupiter imaged during first light for the QHY5 (come to think of it, would have been close to first light for all my AP gear on that evening).

The QHY5 is a great little camera for planetary work and you've got it working well. It also looks like you've got a good handle of how to use wavelets in Registax to bring out the detail nicely - I use it all the time!

I've since upgraded to a QHY5V colour camera as I wanted to get my planetary shots in colour and I've also moved to using eye-piece projection to try and fill the chip and give me a bigger image.
