What does 35 min with a QHY10 get you?

Ive been trying out further FR and FF from different manufacturers on my 127mm scope to see exactly which will give me a perfect flat field with sharp stars. After testing about 7 different ones I have settled on the P-Flat IV from William Optics. Nice but expensive bit of kit.
So after testing there were a few sucker holes around and so I decided to see what I could get to the North of my site. I managed to get 7x5 min with the QHY10 - PFlat IV and 127 mm scope before the clouds cleared me out.
I reduced it to monochrome as the colour was terrible due to moon and light pollution in such a low number of subs. In hindsight I would have been better off binning the camera 2x2 but that didn't occur to me at the time. Reminds me of a sad face; no flats, bias or darks.

Looks like you have a few dust doughnuts there... nothing an accurate flat-field wouldn't fix.

Looks promising

That will be quite good if you can gather some more colour data.
It's sharp enough to give some quite nice detail.

Thanks Alpal, but I posted this image so that owners of this scope could see a viable option for a FR/FF that actually works and gives pinpoint stars to the very corners without a great deal of vignetting. It really isn't a "pretty" picture but a working image to evaluate the success of the optics. In that I'm satisfied. With our current weather conditions it will take a long while before we have a good clear run for any imaging.

Yeah, the colour is a little bland, Allan. Is your monitor calibrated? You must have the saturation up too high.

Can't I just be serious for once in my life?

Allan, I agree that it looks very promising. Which 127 mm scope is it?

It's the fore-runner to the Meade f7.5 127mm triplette with Japanese glass that I purchased from MyAstroShop. Steve Massey imported two scopes for evaluation and I snapped up the second one while he took the other.

Thanks Allan. Good luck with your testing.
Very clear sky here tonight, but seeing is atrocious!

Looks like the Pflat 4 is doing the trick Allan.

Thanks Peter but couldn't have done it without your heads up and Troy's generosity.

I love the image scale for that. Perfect.

You got a lot of detail for only 35 minutes.

Very promising indeed.

Greg.
