Registax

I'm continually amazed at how much Registax can pull out of a very very ordinary avi of Jupiter. I was testing my new autoguiding setup with a modded webcam when I thought I would try Icemans gamma adjustments. Jupiter was at about 25 deg above horizon and boiling but I was after better colour balance and no onion rings. Ive attached a pre-processed frame and 300 stack processed jpg. Its amazing what Registax can pull out of the soup.

It's a very forgiving program. You can put in a pigs ear and pull out a silk purse.

Pretty amazing alright.

And to think it's free. Imaging how much could have been made if Cor Berrevoets and his support team/friends had decided to charge for it. But they give it away for free. Talk about giving your all for your passion. How many copies of Registax are there floating around the world today. I wonder if there is anyone out there that images planets with a webcam who doesn't have a copy of Registax somewhere on their computer.

Thanks Guys
