Venus and Jupiter Conjunction - Gosford Waterfront 12th March

Hi all

I'm surprised I haven't seen more conjunction photos yet - maybe people are waiting for them to be at their closest, or for the moon to join the view later in the month.

In any case, I didn't want to waste a clear afternoon at Gosford Waterfront (I was at Gosford Pool with Eliza doing her guides swimming carnival), and also get some more practise in with the 5D MkII and 24-105mm lens.

The brightest of the pair (the bottom one) is Venus, with Jupiter above it.

I liked the reflection of the planets on the water. Unfortunately Adcock Park had something on which caused the bright lights beneath the planets. But still, the planets shone like beacons – they were great to see. And it was a stunning sunset just 30 minutes before – I have some photos of that still to process!

Thanks for looking.
