Pier column

Hi again all who read this.
I have a quick question that im sure the forum can provide an answer.
Its 7.25 pm here in Northern NSW .. I have been concreting the pier footing all day ... 1.5m in a mixer and its now close to dark .. I have yet to pour a 400mm round x 820mm high column that ties the pier to the footing.

Is it important to pour this in the same pour as the footing ??? If so its doing it all in car headlights tonight.

It will be much easier to do tomorrow after the footing has gone off a bit.
I just dont know the repercussions of a cold joint. I have 4 pieces of Y12 sticking out of the footing to tie the column in (they are welded in place in the reo in the footing.)

Thanks for your help

Sorry, I have no idea, though I'd tend to do it in one go.
Hopefully this bump will prompt someone to give you an answer.

Hi everyone ... I have spoken to a concreter and he told me there is no problems at all to pour the column tomorrow ... just make sure no loose material is on the surface ... wet it down with a mixture of 2 cups of water and a handful of cement then pour away ... It was the answer I wanted to hear ... its hard enough in the day time let alone trying it under car lights with heaps of mozzies attacking !!!!
