Nice image Tom. That spot is pretty large. Might have to take a look at it in Ha.

Nice work Tom – the solar granulation is easily discernible in these close ups. I’m outside right now re-learning my set-up and imaging skills, trying to have a go at this big sunspot group!

Cheers

Very nice shoots, Tom.
Did you use the astrosolar filter by full diameter of the telescope? dis you add other filters (ND filters, coontinuum filter)?

Thanks Bob, Derek and Matt. Nunzio I use just a full aperture solar filter (Mylar film) but I set the 600D to Monochrome Picture Style with Green filter effect and maximum contrast.

Wow, nice detail Tom. This group of spots has been very productive, with lots of good images, and now even some Aurorae.

Thanks for the views.

Tom,
Well done!
Excellent results.
I assume you used a Baader Solar film filter (not mylar!)

Tom, thank you for informations about filter and for camera settings too ; I'm going to take an Astrosolar filter in order to test the Dob on the Sun. Your results are really good and full of details.
