Mars & Saturn March 6th in pretty ordinary seeing.

Hi All,

Imaged Mars this morning, initially the image was continually going in & out of focus, pretty typical of fast, jet effected seeing. Later it stabilized somewhat.

Have attached the best RGB & 807nm IR data sets along with animations of all the RGB & 807nm IR data. There is some nice cloud over the Tharsis region with a hole in it about where Olympus Mons would be. Olympus Mons also shows up very nicely in the IR animation

Moved on to Saturn which was also pretty soft but good enough to resolve a bright spot within the storm remnant and also a cloud feature in the NEB, which shows up quite well in the RGB animation.

Thanks for looking.
Regards
Trevor

Despite the seeing problems Trevor, you have managed to pull off some very nice images. Love the Mars images a lot! Talking to Glenn about the features taking on a dark green hue the last couple of days. Most interesting.

Lovely Saturns too.

I'm out there imaging as I type. A perfect night, but wish the full moon was somewhere else...A bit of jet around that is going to make things difficult later.

very nice data Trevor. Ease of focusing seems to be a very reliable indicator of the eventual image quality. Regards ray.

Still look good Trev. At Clayton I looked briefly and could not focus on Mars so I went to bed. You clearly persisted and got some nice rewards all the same.
