Venus Mar 09 - IR&UV

Finally had some seeing stable enough to focus with the UV filter. I assembled the following colour image from IR+G+UV, with the G a combination of IR and UV.

Still working out how to best combine the channels, but I was pleasantly surprised to get some cloud variations. I think next time I will actually take a V for the green.

Thanks for looking.

-Ivan

Great work Ivan! I'd die to get images like this of Venus. My UVenus filter delaminated unfortunately, plus I have the house & a massive tree in the way where I am now.

That is a top notch image Ivan - I have seen may like this (IR / UV etc) and this looks the most pleasing to me - the colours are great and the disc is very crisp - congratulations!

Thanks John, I'm using Custom Scientific I and U Bessell photometry filters (I'm mostly into photometry, planets are usually just a sideline). They should be pretty durable.

Thank you Matt, I must give credit for the colour scheme to my son. I am Red/Green colour blind, so he usually guides me on the colour balance!

Great to see details on Venus, a top effort. And I too like the colours.
