DSLR image M65-66 NGC 3628

Hi,

Imaged one of my favourite trio of galaxies last night.

M 65-66 and NGC 3628.

This image was taken without a coma corrector, I need to get a spacing kit. Anybody in South Australia will tell you it was damn hot last night. So I'm pleased with the result at ISO 1600. I'm finally on top of collimation now one step closer to setup completion.

Telescope. 8" f/4.
Mount HEQ Pro .
Camera. Unmodded Canon 1100D.
10 x 120 sec subs.
9 x dark frames.
9 bias.
3 flats.
Stacked in DSS.
Processed in Photoshop.

Cheers,
Justin.

Thats a Fine result Justin, Galaxy structures showing real well for 2min subs, I assume F/4 helps a lot here & considering the high iso and hot conditions, the capture has worked very well, , ,
Nice subject this triplet ! Top stuff !

Hi Bob,

Thanks for that.
Yeh the 8" f/4 certainly helps with exposure times, now I have it collimated properly and my auto guider finally arrived today I should be away!
Now it's the long road to learn how to process my images properly.

Cheers,

Justin.
