Foldable Geodesic dome

Hi All,

I have noticed on here some people building foldable geodesic domes for observatories. well I came across this today, its purpose is a tent like device however i think it could be adapted to a VERY portable observatory. Check it out here.

What I imagine is the dome, some kind of clip together track and wheels. dome on the ground observatory. OR even aluminium poles to make 2 hexagonal shapes with cloth around them, the dome runs on the hexagonal shapes making a fully portable fit in the boot of a sedan observatory.

Steve, it looks very similar to my 105-triangle geodesic, which was made from 9 mm plywood. (See pic below)

For portable use though, I'd want something that went up in minutes - not hours.
