Aboriginal constellations

Does anyone know about a good source of info on the aboriginal constellations. I was given a quick tour once a year or so ago and would like to refresh the knowledge.

Now there's a challenge

Thanks Ving, I had already done that and just got bits a pieces. I was hopeful that I could short cut the process with some whiz kid giving me a heap of info instead of doing it the hard way.

Mike, yes the emu is probably the most commonly known one on our side of the county but I think at this time of year most of it is below the horizon in the evening.

Speaking of Aboriginal stuff, The region of space directly above Australasia is known as:

The Gondwana Region

Astronomy is the only area in anything that recognises the original Aboriginal name of Australia.

Good-onya whoever the astronomer was that named it!

Gondwana isn't aboriginal. It's a former supercontinent.

Welcome, MiG! Love your signature! Don't know if it's more true of engineers than some others, but I've met some people who fit the profile.

Thankyou to you and ballaratdragons for the warm welcome.
I used to spend a lot of time on car forums where I had a lot of discussions and arguments. Some people thought I was out to make their life difficult, but I just don't like incorrect facts or explanations being read by everyone.
So when I saw that quote somewhere I pounced on it

Can't wait until my GS 10" comes. I was expecting it today, but I didn't know that money travels so slowly between banks, even though I did it over the internet.

Hi MiG,

Congrats on buying a GS Dobber.

Doesn't matter where the word Gondwana originally came from, some Aboriginal buddies of mine say that Aboriginals claim it as their original name for this land.

They probably didn't have one for the whole of oz (only areas) so they must have just grabbed that one. ???

Anyway, good to have an argument and debate settler here. Too often we hear of something and just run with it. Or am I wrong, no I'm not, yes I am, says who, prove it, wanna bet? lol.

Don't worry about me, I'm one of the crazy ones in here. No your not, yes I am!

Oh yeah, GS 10". You will enjoy it.
