A question about a light box ...

I am in the throes of constructing a lightbox for the LX-200.

More often than not, when I am imaging (DSLR), I use a flexible dew shield.

I need to know; if the dew shield is used when imaging, should I also be using it when taking the flat frames? If not, then I need to make special cuts in the lightbox, to allow for brackets etc on the scope.

As an aside, I'm not too sure that the dew shield can carry the enormous weight of the 3mm foam board box...

Any and all advice appreciated, with thanks.

I have never thought of this issue and it maybe the reason why I am getting some gradients on my images. I will try to return the back to pack-away as I think after your query that I am getting some reflections of the dew-shield. Stars are not strong enough to cause this to the image itself.

Maybe someone else can confirm this.
