Concrete pad done at last

After digging a big hole and then filling it up last week I now have the
pier foundation done at last. Will put the pier on it next weekend and
level it some more and fill out any gaps with grout. I have painted the pier
satin black ready to go. Next step will be laying out the ground for the skids and gravel and then leveling it up ready to build the floor. I am just building the whole things on skids to make it easy and give a very sturdy flooring.

Very cool. But when did you manage to do all that with all this rain?

I got a bit lucky Marc , weekend before last I dug the whole only to have to bail out a heap of water . Had a long weekend last weekend and mixed and poured the concrete then covered it . I was very lucky with the weather , now just hope I can continue with the rest of it in a reasonable time frame - damn rain !

Thanks Phil , floor will just be 45x90 structural pine with yellow tongue
flooring . I will probably put some rubber matting over it when the rest is finished .

Update:I put the pier up on the bolts and they fitted perfect - big relief !
I put some thick construction grout under the pier base and squashed it down till the fixed top was pretty level and no gaps under the base.
It was close anyway but there were gaps here and there . Will tighten down the bolts when its dry.

Now Mark you didn't need to put a cage around it. I don't think it is going to get away.
