M17 Swan Nebula My First

Clear night last night besides the moon. Was very bright. I thought noway i can get an image tonight but still gave it a go. Took this with the Meade DSI 9 x 84 seconds stacked .

It kinda does look like a swan

I already did. My digital camera is overseas at the moment so the only imaging device I have left is the ol' Sony digital video camera. I had it mounted on the tripod pointing at M42 last night seeing what it could do. See the thread 'The wonderful M42 in Orion' in this forum.....

Nice Image Ezy,

It doesn't take much to get hooked.

So much fun.

Great effort, Eric. Well done.

Did you sort out the colour/mono issue in Envisage?

ok, this is your best, and 84 seconds and star trails are getting less and less.

ok, officially i can't talk to you now, there is an unwritten rule about deep space guys and planetary guys apparently, now that you are producing this quality

nice image of orion middy! keep it up

thanks guys. getting really hooked. As you can see, the time i took the image was very early in the morning. no sleep

Hey adam, fixed the colour issue with envisage. had to run some command in dos prompt which resets the DSI. now i can use the zoom command to help with focusing

lol i'll get back to planetary work really soon davo. need to get myself a toucam first. thanks for your comment dude

i noticed that not many people image other objects besides the M42 all the time? or maybe other messier objects you have to stay awake till 5am ? lol
