Eta Carina & Rosette core

Further imaging with my new QSI... tried some other targets tonight:

Scope: LX90 8" ACF with CCDT 0.67x reducer
Camera: QSI583wsg
Guider: Orion SSAG

Eta Carina
Ha: 5x5mins, bin1x1
RGB: 3x3mins each channel, bin2x2

Rosette core
Ha: 3x10mins, bin1x1

Calibrate, stretch and combined with MaximLE, further processing with CS5. Images are un-cropped, just resized to upload.

Now I realise how big Rosette is! took with the 0.67x reducer and can just barely fit the core.

Victor.

Thanks JJJ, so far I'm really happy with it. Still a lot to learn, with my limited knowledge of the camera's capabilities & LRGB processing, the images I have taken so far are 10 fold better than my Canon 550D And I have not even use it at a dark site yet. All these images up to date were taken from my Sydney suburban backyard.

It cools down really quickly, the lowest I managed to bring it down so far is -27C in this summer temp.

The OAG focus well for the Orion SSAG, I read on various forums that users were having problem focusing the SSAG, but I didnt have any of that issue.

The only drawback that I have is the long download time, 20-23 secs, which makes focusing & framing the target a long and painful process.

Victor.
