Phobos-Ground probe about to re-enter

In an article that appears in this morning's Sydney Morning Herald it
is reported that the failed 13.2 tonne Russian Phobos-Ground probe was "expected to
crash between 11:41am and 4:05pm EST".

I can tell you, if I had to rely on US tracking to find my way around or how high up I was, I'd stick my finger out the window and test the air for the info. They don't know where this probe is. It's height is going up and down like a yo-yo. For all their technology, the Yanks couldn't find a shopping trolley in the aisle of a supermarket!!!!

They just posted...it crashed between NZ and Sth America. Mind you, on a path that was totally unrelated to the one they were showing it was on.

Ok, not a "US" tracking site per se... just some dude with a computer and some math...

If you want real TLE Satellite Data to follow... https://www.space-track.org

I don't know if the site accepts registrations from non-US citizens or not, but try anyway... it takes about a week for you to get a login (mine took 2 days). The site is run by the US Strategic Command (http://www.stratcom.mil/)

OIC!
