Mars 12-01-2012

Hi,
I was able to get out and image Mars on Friday night. After 2 O'clock the conditions were pretty good. Overall it was one of those nights where everything just seem to fall into place . I have attached two images of about 6 runs (have not process the others yet) for the night. First image altitude was about 37° and the second was 45° a lot higher than 2yrs ago. Mars size was 10" and for this size I think this is the best 10" shot I've done.

Lovely images Troy and nice processing. Smooth and lots of detail. A bit of cloud there too.

Thanks gents,
I have attached the red channel to show the land features such as Elysium and the blue channel to show the cloud detail around Elysium.

Cheers

Troy, very nice detail. Well done.
How many frames did you capture & process in each channel, and how many in the final stack?

Thanks Tony,
Captured about 2000 frames for the blue and 3000 for the other channels. I selected the best 1000 frames for the final stack.
