Is comet Lovejoy still visible with binos? According to images viewed on the forum it's grazing the outskirts of the LMC.
Also what time is it best viewed.
Hope you can advise.

Hi Barb and David, the best time to view Comet Lovejoy 10p.m. onwards, when the sky is Very dark. Once it clears the outer regions of the LMC it may be just visible with Good large aperture and large FOV binoculars. Only the first 5 degrees of its tail may be visible.
I have not seen it with binoculars, due to the LMC. I tried with 7x50, also you will need Very clear/dark skies.
Thanks Lester.
I had a quick look last night with my Vortex 8x42 at about midnight but couldn't spot it. I will try again tonight now that I know I was in the right time frame. Weather today and tomorrow supposed to be clear.
We are in semi dark skies here so I do have a chance of maybe seeing it.
I was lucky enough to take a few images of Lovejoy on 28th Dec so I was happy with that.
