Hamburger, Sombrero and M83 galaxies
When I was up early on Tuesday morning taking pictures of Saturn, I also captured three bright galaxies - Hamburger Galaxy, Sombrero Galaxy and M83.

I know they are pretty basic pictures, but not bad for an Alt/Az mount. No doubt Homer Simpson would like the Hamburger galaxy - MMmmm galaxy..... I wonder if there is a donut galaxy.

I also found that in processing them, the pictures look quite different on different monitors. If I process them on my laptop, they are way too bright and noisy when viewed on a desktop. In the end I re-processed them on the desktop.

Date: Tuesday 3/1/2012: ~3:30AM
Location: Sydney
Telescope: Meade LX90
Mount: Alt/Az
Camera: Canon EOS 550d
Exposures: 10 @ 30 secs. ISO 6400
Processing Software: DSS / Paint.NET

Mmmm, the hamburger galaxy is actually called Centaurus A......not as yummy a name though...

You may want to calibrate your monitors so that you get more consistent results.

Or NGC 5128. The Sombrero is correctly M104 or NGC 4594.
Sorry to be padantic I just like to see catalogue references rather than common names
Anyways nice results. ISO 6400! How is the noise at that level?
