Post Image Posting Guidelines

Hi guys.

Please feel free to post images here at the IceInSpace Forums, both in inline HTML and as attached images. However please be considerate of other users and remember these few rules:

1. Use JPEG compression
2. Limit your files sizes to around 60k. A little over is fine every now and then but be reasonable. People on dialup have to download these images and they don't want to waiting 5 minutes for 1 thread to load with a picture they may not be interested in.
3. Limit your resolution to around 800x600. Again, a little bigger is fine every now and then but be reasonable. Not everyone runs 1280x1024 resolution, so be considerate so users don't have to horizontally scroll to see posts.

If you want to post a bigger, higher resolution, uncompressed picture, please include it as a link to an off-site webspace, but please remember to warn people if it's a large file.

If you're new to image processing software, or are not sure how to resize and post your images, please don't be afraid to ask for help in these forums, or privately through email or PM if you wish.

Thanks for your cooperation!

Thank you for the tip Mike. Yes I was a little uncertain of the rules here when I sent my first few pictures. Just learning of the different methods of jpeg compression ie. what looks good and what looks bad when using too much compression.
