HongKong Symphony of Lights : waste ?

On this site

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-pacific-12448437

I found that HK provides every night a large light show of 10 minutes with skybeamers, lasers, etc.
I think a useless contribution to light pollution.

What do you think ?

Given the amount of other light pollution in HK, and that it is only for 10 mins it makes little difference except to the HK government's power bill.

It's actuall pretty cool synchro. As Andrew said 10min is nothing. If they can concentrate Sydney light dome in a 10min blazing show then turn off the lights I'm all for it.
