Nice view Rob, showing Sytis Major, polar cap and collar, plus small features. Hope the weather improves soon. All the best.

Too right! I haven't been able to image since late November. Either too cloudy or clear skies but windy.

Thanks Lester and Swannies

Sorry Folks,
I was a bit tired (and slack) when I posted this image!
This was taken with the 8" @f27 using the DBK 618, a GSO 2.5x Barlow + extension tube. Captured with IC Cap, 1/76th sec Gain 650 (about 75% Histogram). It was the best 700/21000 frames over 6min. Cropped in Castrator. Debayered in DeBayer (bilinear). Quality graded, stacked and sharpened in Registax 6. Colour and 200% resize in CS3.
I had earlier reinstalled Firecapture in the hope of running some tests, but for a second time it seemed to be the cause of IC Cap crashing?? So I did a quick uninstall while some cloud passed
I am not 100% certain that FC is to blame as IC Cap ran perfectly well the session before this with FC installed and IC Cap crashed on the first startup after uninstalling FC (I always restart XP after I uninstall a program under XP) but after that was faultless again?
I may have to resort to 2 machines until I decide which capture program meets my needs best.

fine image Rob. have had the same sorts of problems with the mono TIS618 - now run ICCAP on an Atom netbook and Firecapture on an I7 - neither works properly on the other machine. Regards Ray

Thanks Ray,
Don't you just love computers
I had a go at a repro but not sure if it's an improvement?

Rob, well done. I reckon the reprocessed image looks a lot sharper than the original post.
I don't have FC installed on my computer but for what it might be worth at the start of last year IC capture was working perfect then suddenly I had a lot of problems. In the end I took the advice from Imaging Source in Germany and downloaded and installed the latest IC capture and drivers for the camera. IC capture has worked perfect ever since (i.e better than the operater (me)). If all else fails it could be worth a try.
