Will Lovejoy be visible from Southern Victoria? I've had a scoot around and can't find any information on rising times or locations.

Peter, the Comet is rising about 3am in the ESE, but part of the tail will have already risen by then. People are getting to their sites early so they are settled before it starts to rise.
Peter, any of the computer programs will give you a chart. They won't get the tail length right but that's not so critical as the tail rises first.
These came from the three I have on this laptop. They might all be labeled Melbourne but are good for your location, and may have been generated for Gippsland's lat/lon.
Can someone tell me how to get Stellarium to put that little bracket thing round the location of the comet. All it does is go there and there is no mark to indicate where it is. It does the bracket marking Ok for Nebulas
If you drag your mouse cursor down to the bottom of the screen (where your location, date and time is etc.) a toolbar should pop up and the object that is currently selected can be skewed to (skewed is that even a word?) by clicking the button that has four arrows pointing inwards. Is that what you were asking for?
The comet is fully risen (tail & all) for Victorians as I write this (9:45pm), or more correctly it hasn't set yet! The comet 'head' will scrape just below the southern horizon later on tonight, but by tomorrow night it will be circumpolar (ie it won't rise or set).
It has become a difficult object to see unless you have dark skies, and the best views will remain the morning ones as the brighter part of the tail climbs higher in the sky. Moonlight will start to affect evening views too.
