Christchurch earthquakes 23/Dec/2011

So far today they've had four mag 5 or higher and 26 in total.

Yep. We missed our overseas flight connection because the quakes caused the closure of the airport. Even though they were "smaller" than the earlier shakes this year and 2010, they felt just as bad because of the shallow depth. My four-year-old son thought they were wonderful, however, and couldn't stop laughing for ages.
