TLE in Toowoomba

Like most others in South East Queensland I was positive that I'd miss the elcipse last night due to could cover.

All through the afternoon and into the early evening I gazed at a sky with not 1 but 2 layers of cloud. I watched radars and looked at rain and cloud station websites trying to decide how far to drive, which direction to go and how early to leave to still be set up in time. The car was packed, ready with a full tank of fuel and loaded with my telescope + gear.

As the time drew nearer the cloud thinned, allowing me to catch the eclipse as the moon entered the umbral shadow through to the time it was fully out.

This was my first attempt at imaging an eclipse so please forgive the unevenness of the exposures in the composite.

I'm in Toowoomba too, but I've been way more pessimistic than you mate and spent the evening watching tv. At nearly midnight I was still awake and went out in the backyard without any hopes and there it was!

I was too tired for pulling out and setting up my dob and just enjoyed it with a 10x50 binos. With a sky very terse, that unusual Moon, which low luminosity allowed the Miky Way from the Pleiades to Eta Carina to add even more magic to the view,
it was so beautiful...

Great images by the way.
