The Planets 2011
Made the effort to get up early this morning to get an image of Mars, which completes my list of planets for the year.
I can't remember a year with such poor weather and seeing, and the winter nights were *cold*, yet I've done more observing this year than ever before.
Cheers to all who've shown images here this year, I've enjoyed the views. Hope you enjoy this one.
Best,
-Ivan
P.S. Yes, it's a dwarf, but still a planet of sorts.

Very nice compilation Ivan - I love the Mercury detail. Jupiter, Mars and Saturn are great too. Thanks for putting them up together.

Thanks to all for the kind comments and feedback.
John asked about the gear I used. There is a mixture.
Pluto was shot with an Atik320E, the rest were with a DMK21AU04 camera + 2x Barlow and RGB filter wheel.
The Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, and Pluto images were with a C11 (280mm SCT), the Venus and Uranus are with a C6 (150mm SCT).
Tom, I think the Mercury image is the one I am most pleased with this year as well. Not my best Neptune or Venus, but I wanted the record to be of this year.
Once again, thanks for looking.
