Hi Guys
I have a LX90-10"ACF and want to get into imaging. I was wondering what other people are using with this scope or what experienced people would recommend

Thanks

Hi Brendan,

What mount are you using - standard Alt/Az or an equatorial?

I have the 8" LX90 on the standard Alt/Az mount and use a canon EOS 550d. The exposures times are limited to ~45 second before getting star trails, but I have managed to get some nice photo's - both DSO and Planetary.

The EOS utility can be used to control the camera remotely including Aperture, ISO, timer settings etc and the live view mode is great for focusing.

For planetary imaging, the EOS movie crop mode can used to capture the cental 640 x 480 pixels on the senor which gives a "magnified" view. The resulting movie can be imported into registax for stacking the individual movie frames.

Cheers,
Mark
