My 10"collapsible Skywatcher has always been sticky to move on both axes. I fixed the azimuth axis by fitting a 30cm diameter thrust bearing
which I can adjust with the turntable centre bolt; I have been unable to
come up with a solution for the altitude movement. It is almost impossible to use the scope at more than about 80x. I thought about
fitting four small ball bearings in place of the supposedly Teflon supports.
Has anybody else had this problem? and if so, have they managed to overcome it?
P.S. I have got so peed off, that I've gone back to my old faithful
30 yr. old Celestron C-8.
thanks in advance raymo
