First Solar Image

Hi all, i made a Baader filter for my f5.6 Dob this morning and this is my first sun photo. Canon D1000 @ 1/1500 sec. I shut the aperture down from 203mm to 170mm. I used a 25mm eyepiece giving an eff.f of about f22. With the eye it was easy to see the surrounds of the sun spots but trying to capture them on ‘film’ was very difficult. Focusing was difficult, no micro focuser, that’s next on my wish list. My images are also bluish rather than the yellow I see on some other images.

Overall i am quite happy with this first attempts but any advice and suggestions are most welcome

p.s. The image attached has come out a bit grainy, this happened during upload, the original does not have the grain and is fairly smooth. ?

Thanks Peter
As for the grain, probably too much jpeg compression to reach the 200kb limit. Try to crop some of the black area away and reduce the image scale by 25% and it will likely be less grainy when you save it to the 200kb limit.
