First galaxy and nebula attempts

I took these shots using my D500 on a tripod, mostly just experimenting, below are the best results I managed:

Orion @ 50mm f/1.4 (Canon USM prime lens) ISO 1600
10x6sec

Andromeda @ 50mm f/1.4 (Canon USM prime lens) ISO 1600
5x10sec

Milkyway and Andromeda @ 18mm f/3.5 (Canon EF-S 18-170mm) ISO6400
5x30sec

Very wide Orion @ 18mm f/3.5 (Canon EF-S 18-170mm) ISO1600
1x4sec

Thanks for looking

J

They all look good but I think the last one is a cracker.

+2 for the last shot. You have just managed to cature a little of the flame nebule in your first Orion shot.
Far better than anything I ever achieved with my first shots

Nicely done. Just shows that you can get attractive shots with basic equipment. Maybe you could try piggyback for the next step.

Cheers
