Sad news - Artie Beetson dies...

I was very sad to hear the news that Artie Beetson died today of a heart attack, aged 66. As a young kid I loved watching him play for Balmain. A sad loss to Rugby League...

Sad, but he did have a few risk factors ... weight, booze, coffin nails...

I looked at some of the highlights of his career on ABC. These days you'd be out of the game if you tackled like that!

He'll be sadly missed. He was a great inspiration to many a young footy player in our district.
I have fond memories of partying with his niece at the Moreton Bay pub. Free drinks served by the man himself.

Yes, the loss of another Sporting legend.

I remember watching Artie play.
Those were the days. It was a different game to modern RL.
Tough, hard, and muddy, the way it was meant to be played.

Goodbye Artie.

That's sad to hear of "Big Artie" passing.

He was a tough player on the field.

RIP Artie, gone to the big footy paddock in the sky.
