Uranus moon Miranda

SPX350 F9.1, Flea3, Astrodon filter. 16th Oct - 1155hrs UT

About to pack up when a couple of minutes of clear sky in the North with broken stationary cloud evaporating managed a quick capture before cloud reappeared 5mins later so I could not do a proper long capture. Never the less Miranda was 7.5" elongation from Uranus edge at 1155hrs UT wide enough to be imaged at mag 16th if bright enough.

I stacked the sharpest 73 of 118frames of 2sec each (654.7ms stack of 3 for each - about 2 secs). Would have loved to get 500 frames but will have to wait till next month, did not get an RGB for the disc - never mind. Stacked image showed faint patch close to Uranus and a little high pass to bring Miranda out better.

Got an IMCCE position of the moons for a reference and they match up perfectly so faint point is probably Miranda. 4 of the 5 moons are there but Ariel is sunk in the left side of the Uranus exposure patch.

Thanks, John.

Excellent work John - I'm viewing your image on my iPad2 and can just make out Miranda.

Cheers

Nice capture John

From what i gather Miranda is a quite shy and tricky moon to capture.

Well done.
